Lisa grew up with a love for all animals but she always had a particular affinity with dogs and horses. Her walls were always covered in dog training posters and horses growing up and her career initially led her into human psychology. However, she then began studying with COAPE in 2007 and took the plunge in setting up her animal behaviour practice in 2012 following completion of the level 5 diploma qualification. She currently lives with Gus the Beagle and Olive the Black Labrador.
Over the years Lisa has worked with a variety of companion animals and their owners, but she has always especially enjoyed working with puppies and their owners. She has also worked with many rescue organisations including local dogs’ homes and breed specific rescues for Beagles and Bassett Hounds. She has worked with disabled dog owners assisting them in training their dogs to help with their everyday needs and she has a particular interest in teaching dog safety to children within schools.
Lisa loves being part of the Zigzag team and helping so many puppies and their owners get off to the best possible start!
Laura’s been a qualified trainer for almost 10 years, and a qualified, registered behaviourist for 5 years, and she has spent 15 years working in animal rescue.
Over this time, she has worked as a trainer and behaviourist in some of the big UK dog rescue charities including the RSPCA, Battersea, and Dogs Trust before becoming self-employed and setting up her own dog training and behaviour business.
While Laura specialises in helping the owners of rescue dogs, she also focuses on educating and training puppy owners to help their new arrivals to become happy and confident in the big wide world.
She has 3 rescue dogs of her own and has spent the last 18 months raising and training her first rescue puppy, Athena (In the photo) – so she understands first-hand the challenges in raising a puppy in the current chaotic world!

Sue owns a training and behavioural advice centre called Pet-Positive, based in the East of England.
She has always been passionate about families getting the right start with their little pups and runs puppy classes in her hometown. She finds that Zigzag complements group classes brilliantly by getting puppies started nice and early at home and combing that learning once in a group setting.
She trained as a veterinary nurse and always keeps up with veterinary science developments through ongoing professional development. Sue completed the COAPE diploma in animal behaviour in 2011 and does many hours of professional development each year to keep bang up to date on the latest scientific research and methodologies.
Sue has always had dogs ( and other pets) of her own and has had great fun over the years learning skills such as tracking, agility, obedience, sheepdog trialling, (she worked as a shepherd in New Zealand), and she is just embarking on a Hoopers course with her new foster dog.
As a family Sue has also bred from her working sheepdogs and had 2 litters from her Jack Russell, so she is also keen to work with breeders and new owners to know how to support dogs from the word go, ensuring they get the best start in life possible.

- PPG Canine Committee Member
- Trust Centred Training™ – TCT
- ABC-DT

Claire has loved animals since the day she was born, and her very first word was DOG, so that should have given her parents a heads up that she would soon be trying to rescue every stray dog or cat that she saw!
Claire became involved with the Metro East Humane Society a few years ago which helped her begin to live her dream of helping to save animals. She held the position of Photographer, Trainer, Member of the Board of Directors, and head of the Shelter Committee for MEHS.
While she was attending a Traditional “Positive” Dog Training Program, one of her friends told her about a new revolutionary method called Trust Centred Training™.
She attended training in Springfield Missouri that introduced her to the method, and she fell in love instantly knowing that this was what she was meant to specialize in.
Claire was lucky enough to be able to do an Externship in St. Louis with Judy Luther, the founder of Trust Centred Training™.
Having completed her traditional course through Animal Behaviour College she has now also received her Accreditation for the Trust Centred Training method.
Claire focuses on helping pet owners form a strong bond with their dog which lets them begin to communicate with each other, developing such a strong and balanced relationship, that both work together in harmony.
