Let’s face it, dog behavioural problems can lead to stress for both pets and owners, often resulting in horrible realities like being given to a shelter or even euthanasia. However, recent research conducted by the University of Lincoln (along with a little bit of Zigzag magic) shows that early education and positive training are key to prevention.

Yet many owners are still either not training their dogs or using outdated methods based on fear and pain. Well, that’s where we come in.

The Zigzag puppy training app offers expert-led, science-backed guidance with oodles of fun, to support healthy puppy development. Unlike many other outdated training methods, it focuses on positive emotional and cognitive growth – our puppies have feelings too!

Lincoln’s study examines how training your puppy with our wonderful app impacts common behavioural issues, highlighting the potential of digital education in improving dog welfare and owner experience. So, if you haven’t already, we highly recommend getting started with Zigzag! (hint hint)

So, sit back and relax as we dive into the science behind puppy training…and yes we can say that now!

What does this mean? A few words from our Co-Founder and Behavioural Expert Lorna Winter!

What Our Research Shows

Recent research has shown some tail-waggingly promising results when it comes to using the Zigzag app for puppy training!

The study found a reduction in problem behaviours among app users, with 19 out of 21 common behavioural issues showing positive improvement

While more research is needed to understand the long-term effects, these findings suggest that a well-designed, easy-to-use app like Zigzag can make a real difference in preventing behavioural challenges before they start. It’s one more reason to keep your phone handy and Zigzag downloaded while raising your pup!
